Allens of Battersea

In this project Astounding Interiors was commissioned to design and build the delicatessen and butchers shop. Allens of Battersea is located in the Battersea power station development.

We used an organic, industrial but luxurious design for this project, inspired by high concrete ceilings and exposed services, we used pendant lighting, stone and marble tiled floors, combined with white tile and rustic-effect porcelain tile walls, for this store. Successfully creating a design outcome which was heavily inspired by the vintage, rustic finish. We used furniture of a similar rustic-vinatage style across our design, the aim of this was to make a display feature of the produce, we achieved this by using baskets and vintage trolleys. Being a produce store; we wanted the store to lush, and incorporated large plant-pots to the stores exterior design. We believed using a luxurious but rustic look across the design of the store would add to the ambiance of this fresh, well-circulated and open store. We wanted the design of this Delicatessen store to be in keeping with its European roots.
